Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm's coach had just bolted for the NFL, and all indications were Brian Brohm would be a first-round draft pick if he chose to turn pro as well. After Brian Brohm won the Big East title and beat Wake Forest in the Orange Bowl, why would he choose to come back to play for a new coach and in a new offense for his senior season?
"I think we've got a great team coming back," Brian Brohm said. "I think we've got a chance at winning a national title. I just wanted to come back and give it one more shot and work toward that ultimate goal."
With Brian Brohm's return for his senior season, Louisville will indeed be a national championship contender in 2007. The defending Big East champions should return seven starters on offense and five on defense.
