A speedy transition at U of L
Any concerns University of Louisville football players might have had about new coach Steve Kragthorpe's practice methods were relieved by last night's first official workout of the spring.
Sure, the Cardinals ran through some slightly different drills than in the past, and their plays and formations went by new names. But the practice turned out to be not much different from those under former coach Bobby Petrino, except for perhaps a little less yelling.
"We were all real anxious to get out here and get going and see what practice was going to be like," senior quarterback Brian Brohm said. "It's still up-tempo, and practice is going to be fast. There are a few things that are different, but we're getting to know Coach's style, and everyone likes it."
The two-hour session at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium began with players practicing in their position groups. The latter half featured some seven-on-seven and 11-on-11 passing matchups, though the defense wasn't allowed to hit with the pads still on the shelf.
