Cardinals have one tall target in Chichester
Rarely a day goes by when Josh Chichester doesn't hear some version of the same question.
"Wow, you're tall," someone will say to the University of Louisville freshman football player. "Why aren't you playing basketball?"
It's an understandable curiosity, especially in a hoops-mad area like this. Besides, you don't see a 6-foot-8 wide receiver every day.
Chichester has drawn plenty of interest from fans during the Cardinals' spring practices, more for his height than for his still-developing skills.
"People take notice of me no matter what because I'm so tall," he said.
Chichester is a project. On Monday, while running a 20-yard pattern, he fell coming out of his break. But his combination of size and speed has the coaching staff dreaming of big things down the road.
"We call him the giraffe," coach Steve Kragthorpe said. &q |
