Even with only half a playbook, Cards look good
The University of Louisville offense has looked sharp throughout most of spring football practice. And the Cardinals have learned only about half their new playbooks.
The offense was again dominant yesterday in the Trager Center during the team's second spring scrimmage. The first-teamers scored touchdowns on seven of their 10 drives against the first-team defense and did not commit a turnover.
First-year coach Steve Kragthorpe estimated his staff has installed about 55 to 60 percent of the offense.
"In some situations I'm limiting the coaches in terms of what we're going to show, because we do have a lot of eyes out here," Kragthorpe said after the team played before several hundred fans, including dozens of top high school junior prospects.
"We want to make sure we have enough bullets to be effective out here, but by the same token we don't want to do a wholesale show of what we're going to be doing in the fall," Kragthorpe said.
