UK has realistic Heisman hopeful in Woodson
With the pre-season college football magazines set to start hitting newsstands at the end of the month, the University of Kentucky program has the most star power it's had since the days of Tim Couch.
UK might even have its first realistic Heisman Trophy candidate since Couch in senior quarterback Andre Woodson.
Woodson doesn't seem to be on the 'A' list of Heisman hopefuls. He was left off of Scout.com's early list of top 20 candidates, which included nine quarterbacks: Hawaii's Colt Brennan, Louisville's Brian Brohm, West Virginia's Pat White, John David Booty's, Texas' Colt McCoy, Michigan's Chad Henne, Tennessee's Erik Ainge, Nebraska's Sam Keller and Florida's Tim Tebow.
Woodson isn't the only player who could be in line for post-season awards. Receiver Keenan Burton and running back Rafael Little are All-Southeastern Conference performers who could play themselves onto the national |
