Games That Deserve Hootin' and Hollerin': The Big East
Out-of-Conference Throwdown of Intergalactic Proportion: South Florida v. Auburn
The game may not be as superficially flashy as some other out-of-conference matchups, but when South Florida travels to Auburn on Saturday, September 8th, both Jim Leavitt's and the Big East's reputation is on the line.
As one of the truly surging programs in the country, South Florida is poised to take a giant step forward this season. With sophomore Matt Grothe guiding the offense and all-everything recruit Mike Ford looking to overshadow his freshman rushing predecessors, the Bulls have at their disposal the means to travel into SEC country and steal away a huge victory.
South Florida may not win, but a solid showing would serve notice to the nation that the Bulls, and vicariously the Big East, are major players in the game worth significant attention and praise.
