QBs to watch when camp opens
We all love the quarterbacks. It's the focus of every team -- and every argument. A quick breakdown with fall camp only six weeks away:
Five underrated QBs
Chase Daniel, Missouri: Must play better in big games (3 TDs, 5 INT in losses to Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Nebraska).
Matt Grothe, South Florida: Still developing as a thrower, but has the moxie and leadership of the great ones.
Dan LeFevour, Central Michigan: Will he continue to develop without Brian Kelly?
Justin Willis, SMU: So his numbers (26 touchdowns, 6 INTs) were against weak C-USA competition, so what? He has a live arm and makes good decisions.
John Parker Wilson, Alabama: Had a very good season last year despite protection problems. Watch how he develops under new offensive coordinator Major Applewhite.
Five on the spot
Erik Ainge, Tennessee: For all the "turnaround" hype last season, he had 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions -- and no touchdowns and four interceptions in losses to Florida, LSU and Penn State.
