AP College Football Top 25 Week One Recap
Week one of college football has ended and several of the nation’s top teams narrowly escaped, keeping their BCS title hopes alive. Of course the Michigan Wolverines couldn’t find away to avoid the upset and fell to Appalachian State on Saturday effectively ending their 2007 season before it could even start.
The USC Trojans entered the season as the AP’s #1 team in the country and Saturday night they managed to beat the Idaho Vandals 38-10 behind 206 yards passing and three touchdown tosses from quarterback Josh David Booty.
On Thursday night the #2 LSU Tigers started slow but rolled to an easy 45-0 blowout of the Mississippi Bulldogs. Matt Flynn enjoyed his first collegiate start at quarterback throwing for 128 yards and a pair of touchdowns while the Tigers defense held Miss. St. to just 10 yards rushing.
Saturday started the season for the #3 West Virginia Mountaineers and by all indications it looks as if they are ready for a serious push for the BCS title. Pat White threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns and added two rushing touchdowns while |
