Cardinals try to regroup against struggling Syracuse
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe urged his players to turn the page and forget the pain of being upset by archrival Kentucky last week.
He was having mixed success.
"You just try to remember that feeling," quarterback Brian Brohm said. "You've got to see what you can do better, go out and do it and not get down on yourself, not get all depressed and think the world is going to end."
The 18th-ranked Cardinals (2-1) think they still have plenty to play for as they enter Big East play on Saturday against reeling Syracuse (0-3).
Any shot at a national championship is likely gone, but there's still a second straight conference crown -- and the Bowl Championship Series berth that goes with it -- out there for the taking.
Then again, even the most optimistic Cardinals admit they're in no position to look that far ahead, not after a sloppy performance allowed the Wildcats to beat them for the first time in five years. |
